Jenkins enjoys visit to Alabama
Saturday marked the first time Harris County (Ga.) linebacker/defensive end Jordan Jenkins has been to Tuscaloosa since Alabama's camp last summer, and he was not disappointed.
Because there wasn't as many recruits on UA's campus for its third Junior Day, Jenkins got a chance to meet the entire Crimson Tide coaching staff and spend time with each individual coach, including his potential future position coach Sal Sunseri.
"I have to say it was a pretty nice visit," Jenkins said. "There wasn't that many people, and I got to talk with all the coaches. Me and Coach Sal talked, and he said some good things. We talked about some of the stuff that I did this year and what I could've done better.
"We watched some of the practice film on me from my sophomore year, and he talked about one of the habits I developed then. He showed me something to get better with it."
After spending time in the dorms, Jenkins also met with UA strength and conditioning coach Scott Cochran, but the highlight may have been his meeting with the head coach, Nick Saban.
"We went and met with Coach Cochran and talked about strength and conditioning, and then after that we met with Coach Saban," Jenkins said. "It was pretty great. He just clarified that they want me and showed me where I'd fit in with their defense."
While on his visit, Jenkins attended the Alabama-Georgia basketball game, which was the first college basketball game he had ever been to. He came away impressed with the crowd and how packed it was for the game.
Jenkins also ran into Brandon Greene, the Tide's most recent 2012 commitment and a fellow Georgia native, while touring the campus with his family.
Despite fielding offers from over a dozen schools, Jenkins has narrowed his list down to six after his trip to UA: Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech and Tennessee.
"Alabama's in my top six, and I think they will stay there for awhile."
