The Cards waited until the final two minutes of the game, but managed to squeeze out a victory over the Orange on Saturday, beating Syracuse 10-9. The game improves Louisville to 4-6 on the season and snapped an ugly nine-game Big East losing streak. Louisville managed just 151 yards of total offense, but was fueled by several big returns from Trent Guy and a late game-winning touchdown pass by Josh Chichester.

  • LB Chris Campa produced a career-best 15 tackles (13 solo, 2 assists), including a career-high two sacks for a loss of 21 yards and a forced fumble. Campa's previous top tackling effort was 12 stops againts Utah earlier this season. He has five sacks this year, matching DE William Savoy -- who had one sack today -- and LB Jon Dempsey for the team lead.

  • K Chris Philpott has made four straight field goals over the past two games, including a 31-yard boot in the third quarter which tied the score at 3-3.

  • U of L produced its second-best defensive effort of the season, limiting the Orange to 266 273 yards in total offense.

  • LB Jon Dempsey, who leads the Cardinals with 87 tackles this season, totaled 11 tackles today (8 solo, 3 assisted). It was his sixth double-digit tackle effort of the season.

  • FS Richard Raglin, produced a career-high nine tackles -- all solo stops -- and added a tackle for loss and a forced fumble.

  • CB Andrew Robinson, the converted wide receiver who entered the game with nine tackles on the season, made a game-saving interception with a minute remaining in the game, the first interception of his career.

  • WR Doug Beaumont caught a pass in 22nd straight game today, one of nine completions for the Cardinals.

  • After coming off two knee surgeries, DE Zach Kiernan made his collegiate debut today versus Syracuse.

  • WR Doug Beaumont and LB Jon Dempsey made their team-leading 22nd consecutive starts.

  • RB Darius Ashley made his second straight start at running back, while QB Adam Froman returned as the starter after missing a pair of games.

  • DT Tyler Jessen recorded his first career sack today in his 20th career contest with the Cardinals.

  • Louisville was limited below 200 yards in total offense (151) for the first time since the Cardinals gained 176 yards against Cincinnati in a 24-14 loss on Nov. 7, 2002.

  • The victory improved the Cardinals to 4-1 at home this season and 12-7 under head coach Steve Kragthorpe.

  • Louisville gained just its second victory when scoring fewer than 24 points under Coach Steve Kragthorpe (2-13).
