The top player on the best team in Washington, junior swingman Shaqquan Aaron is a hotly recruited prospect. Aaron made his college pick Saturday night.
Chris Egan, reporter from King-5 TV in Seattle, confirmed Aaron picked Louisville.
Aaron, a 6-foot-8, 175-pound wing, had offers from UCLA, California, Washington, Louisville and many others.
Aaron, originally from California, transferred to Seattle's Rainier Beach for his junior season. Rainier Beach is the alma mater of former Louisville star Terrence Williams and also NBA players Jamal Crawford, Doug Christie and Nate Robinson.
A remarkably versatile wing player, Aaron has the ability to hit shots from outside as well as take his defender off the dribble. A springy athlete he will most likely play the three spot in Louisville's system.
Aaron, who visited Louisville two weeks ago, is the second 2014 star to commit to the Cardinals. He joins elite point guard Quentin Snider on Pitino's list, giving the Cardinals two of the top 33 players in the nation according to Rivals.com.
Snider, a 6-1, 150-pound point guard from Louisville (Ky.) Ballard High, committed to the Cardinals during his freshman year.
Louisville is one of only two schools with commitments from two of the top 50 players in America on Rivals.com's list. The other, NC State, has commitments from forwards Caleb and Cory Martin (Nos. 37 and 39 respectively).
