Despite beating FIU 72-0, the Louisville football team fell to No. 7 in the Coaches' Poll, getting passed by LSU. The Cardinals are now No. 7 in both polls.

In the AP Poll, the Cardinals garnered 1,088 points behind LSU's 1,167 points. UofL stayed ahead of Florida State, who finished No. 8 in this week's poll with 1,049 points.
Last week LSU had 1,134 points and Louisville had 1,092. FSU had 1,058 points last week.
In the Coaches' Poll, LSU passed the Cardinals after beating Auburn, going from 1,121 points last week to 1,161 points this week. The Cardinals were seventh with 1,140 points (1,128 points last week) followed by Florida State, which had 1,121 points (1,113 points last week).
After Alabama, the top team in both polls, there is little consensus about the order of the best teams in the nation.
On ESPN, Mark May ranked his top teams 1. Alabama, 2. Oregon, 3. Stanford, 4. LSU. Lou Holtz ranked his top teams 1. Oregon, 2. Alabama, 3. Ohio State, 4. Florida State.
None of Louisville's opponents are ranked in the AP or Coaches' polls, but UCF is getting closer. The Knights are off to a 3-0 start and are second in Others Receiving Votes in the Coaches' Poll, and are fourth in the Others Receiving Votes category in the AP poll.
No. 25 Texas Tech has 92 points in the Coaches Poll this week, Georgia Tech has 47 and UCF has 35. Rutgers got five points this week.
UCF will host No. 12 South Carolina this week after having last week off. The Knights beat Penn State 34-31 last week.
