September 22, 2013Louisville already has a full 25 scholarship class in 2014 and the Cardinals are hard at work on 2015. Sunday night, a top prospect called Charlie Strong to commit.
Ross Trail, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound quarterback from Olive Branch, Miss., got early offers from Louisville and Memphis and he pulled the trigger Sunday.
"Yes sir, I committed to Louisville earlier tonight," Trail said.
Trail, who impressed the Louisville coaching staff in the summer during camps, has impressive sophomore film on Rivals.com.
He made it clear that he believes Louisville is a program on the rise.
"Their football program is going up," Trail said. "I just really liked their coaches."
Trail was rated the No. 6 quarterback at the Rivals.com Underclassman Challenge in DeSoto, Texas, this summer.
Rivals.com's Rob Cassidy reported: "Trail is another young quarterback with fantastically polished mechanics. He spent the day delivering catchable footballs to a wide variety of targets. He shined on intermediate routes, showing off the kind of accuracy that moves the chains. He didn't test his arm with deep balls often and struggled a bit when he did. That said, the good he did was far more obvious than the moments of trouble."
