CSZ: BCS still alive? The Bullet returns
BCS POSSIBILITY STAYS ALIVE
With Houston's win over USF on Thursday night, the stage is now set for next Saturday's big game, and one that Cards fans should definitely be interested in. Next Saturday at 7:00 pm, Houston plays on the road at Central Florida. If the Cougars win, and don't lose anymore games this season (besides to UofL), then that sets up a 3-way tie for 1st place in the American, assuming UCF only has 1 loss also.
In the 3-way tie, the team with the highest BCS ranking would get the BCS bid, and that would likely be the Cards since UCF would have this loss late in the season and it would be hard for them to make up ground. Of course all of this can be made simpler if UCF just goes on to lose 2 games the rest of the way.
FORMER CARD RETURNING TO THE YUM! CENTER
Next Wednesday at 7:00 pm, Louisville will play its second and final exhibition game before the regular season starts. This one will be against Pikeville, and there will be a familiar face for the Bears. Former Louisville Cardinal Elisha Justice is a guard for Pikeville. When they played last season, Justice was injured and did not play, but he was in attendance. In their most recent game, a 98-68 win over Tennessee Wesleyan, Justice had 9 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. Pikeville still plays on Friday and Saturday before making the trip to Louisville.
RUSHING'S COMMITMENT STILL SOLID
There have been some recent rumblings about 2014 wide receiver commit George Rushing (Fort Lauderdale, FL) possibly decommiting from the Cards. He has even been asked that himself from "a lot of people." Rushing said "Yeah everybody keeps asking. Do people think I'm going to decommit? Because I have no such plans. I love the 'Ville and what they're doing." It certainly sounds like Rushing is ready to be a Card.
2015 RUNNING BACK COMMITS TO THE CARDS
On Monday night, running back Justin Crawford became the 2nd commit for Charlie Strong's 2015 class at Louisville, joining QB Ross Trail from Olive Branch, Mississippi. Crawford is from Columbus, Georgia and has an offer from Boston College and being shown interest from Georgia and Auburn. Crawford is listed at 6-feet and 195 pounds.
WOMEN'S SOCCER HOSTING AAC TOURNAMENT GAME
This Sunday, the women's soccer team will host a 2nd round game in the American Athletic Conference Tournament. On Friday night at Cardinal Park, 7th seed Memphis (11-7-0, 4-5-0) will take on 10th seed Houston (1-11-3, 0-9-0) at 7:00 pm. 2nd seed Louisville (12-4-1, 8-1-0) will take on the winner on Sunday at 4:30 pm at Cardinal Park. With a win, the Cards would head to Orlando, FL for the semifinals and hopefully finals of the tournament. The semifinals will be next Friday (Nov 8) and the finals next Sunday (Nov 10).
