Yuri Wright excited for remaining visits
Despite rumors that he may announce a commitment at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Saturday (airing live at 1 p.m. EST on NBC), cornerback Yuri Wright says that's not the case. He still has a couple visits to get out of the way before making his choice.
Wright has already been on two official visits this fall, and would like to see all three of his other finalists before committing to a college. He took a trip to Colorado on Dec. 9, and the following weekend headed to South Bend to experience Notre Dame. Both schools impressed the youngster.
Among his remaining visits is his childhood favorite. Despite growing up in the Northeast, the Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep grew up rooting for the Michigan Wolverines. His affinity for the maize-and-blue started in part due to a hatred for their top rival.
The four-star Wright is ranked the No. 3 cornerback and No. 57 overall prospect in the country by Rivals, and also has the distinction of No. 3 senior overall in the state of New Jersey. His 6-2, 180-pound size is above-average for the position, and it's rare that prospects of his height have the ability to turn and run with receivers that he does. Wright is also full of upside. He didn't play football his sophomore year of high school, and his physical talent will only be more impressive once he continues learning the techniques to harness his natural ability.
Whichever school eventually lands Wright is getting a very talented football player whose best days are ahead of him. What will it take for a school to earn his commitment?
