Coach Strong's Take:
Friday's UCF game also served as Homecoming 2013 for the University of Louisville. Prior to the game, there was the annual Alumni Tailgate and Street Fest that included all the ingredients for the perfect Cardinal-made party - great food, music, games, giveaways and of course, beer.
The Homecoming festivities continue Saturday with "Homecoming on Main" that includes the third and final Red/White Men's Basketball Scrimmage at the KFC YUM Center.
The event begins at 10:30 a.m. outside the KFC Yum! Center with the scrimmage taking place at 1:00 p.m. The community celebration on Main Street is open to the public and features food, fan activities and a replay of the 2013 NCAA Championship game on the jumbotron.
Tickets for the scrimmage can be purchased at GoCards.com or at the ticket window at the KFC Yum! Center.
"We just wanted to come out and finish as a team. We have grown so much. We all have bought into the system, and we know what the coaches expect from us."
Junior safety Calvin Pryor on the defensive performance :
"Man, we played outstanding. WE gave up a cheap touchdown at the end of the half. We didn't even know what formation they were in. But we just came out in the second half and started playing, and then we played balls to the wall."
The No. 6 ranked Cards now have just over one week to prepare for a road trip to face the USF Bulls next Saturday, October 26th at Tampa's Raymond James Stadium. Kick off for the South Florida Showdown is at 12noon.
