Cardinals flip Ole Miss commit

Gadsden City, Ala., sack specialist Finesse Middleton liked Louisville ever since camping on the Cardinals campus back in the summer. He'd also been committed to Ole Miss since July.

That changed Sunday night. Middleton, a 5-foot-11, 255-pound defensive end with nearly a dozen offers, visited Louisville Saturday and Sunday and returned home.

He texted reporters Sunday afternoon saying he will make his final decision public via Twitter Sunday night.

Middleton hopes to enroll at Louisville in January, and is eager to impress and ready to earn playing time. He had planned to do the same at Ole Miss.

"They have told me they plan on me playing," Middleton told RebelGrove in late November. "I told them I was ready. I'm ready for college. Where I am, there's nothing you really want to live around. I'd rather play football and get out of this hole rather than stay."

Between now and then he'll be working on his strength numbers.

"I've got to catch back up on my strength," Middleton said. "One of my goals was to bench 500 and squat 600. I benched 405, squatted 515. I know I'll get way bigger and stronger than I am now."
