Ole Miss commit makes a switch

After hosting a group of 13 official visitors this weekend. Louisville football got good news Tuesday when an SEC commit flipped his commitment to the Cardinals.

Charles Williams, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound defensive back from Hialeah, Fla., flipped from Ole Miss to Louisville Tuesday.

Called Chucky by teammates and coaches, Williams is the No. 31 multi-position athlete in the class of 2013 by Rivals.com. The Champagnat Catholic Lion visited Louisville this weekend after previously visiting Ole Miss and Nebraska.

Williams committed to Ole Miss on July 26, but he continued to be a hot prospect, collecting offers from Arkansas, Clemson, West Virginia, South Carolina, Nebraska, Texas Tech, Purdue, Mississippi State and many others.

Williams is the 14th commitment in Louisville's 2013 recruiting class. is listed as an ATH. If he stays on defense, he joins Apopka (Fla.) Wekiva defensive back Terrence Ross as UofL's secondary recruits in the class.

If he plays wide receiver like he was hoping to do at Ole Miss, Williams joins Louisville (Ky.) Trinity star James Quick and Tampa Bay Tech star Richard Benjamin at wide receiver.

From the Miami area, Williams' primary recruiter for Louisville is Clint Hurtt and his secondary coach will be Tommy Restivo.
