Cardinals add late four-star signee

Louisville coach Charlie Strong just landed a late recruit, and it's a big one. Four-star linebacker Stacy Thomas signed with Louisville Sunday.

The 6-foot-2, 235-pound prospect visited Louisville over the weekend and left with a signed Letter of Intent.

The Gulliver Prep star is the No. 24 linebacker in the nation and the No. 60 overall prospect in the state of Florida.

Thomas joins a Louisville class that includes 15 high school prospects, a junior college transfer and a transfer from Florida.

He chose Louisville over offers from Florida, Florida State, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, West Virginia, LSU and many others.

Thomas had a list of favorites that consisted of Louisville, Duke, West Virginia and Ole Miss. He was in constant contact with Strong and recruiting coordinator Clint Hurtt.

Thomas was also pleased with Louisville's move to the ACC. He was quoted in December as saying, "It would be nice because they will play teams closer to home for me. With Louisville I have a real good relationship with coach Strong and Coach Hurtt. I actually talk to Coach Strong almost every day."

His final decision came down between Louisville and Indiana. He picked Louisville on his visit and signed right away.
