CSZ: Lyle, Lyles and another trip to NOLA?

The CSZ crew's weekly notebook includes an update from five-star forward Trey Lyles, two more UofL teams ranked and a note about Louisville possibly returning to New Orleans.

NEW JAQUAN LYLE HIGHLIGHT TAPE
Check out the latest highlight video of 2014 UofL basketball commit JaQuan Lyle. Is it just me, or does it look like it just comes easy to him?

FIVE-STAR POWER FORWARD SETS VISIT
Trey Lyles is a 6-10, 245-pound power forward from Indianapolis, Ind. He is also Louisville's biggest recruiting target right now for the 2014 class.

On Wednesday afternoon, Lyles tweeted that he will visit Louisville on August 31st, which will be the weekend of the first football game vs Ohio. He is also close friends with UofL commit JaQuan Lyle, so we will see if that plays a factor in his decision. His top 4 schools are Louisville, Kentucky, Florida, and Butler.

BIG CORNERBACK RECRUIT FAVORS LOUISVILLE
2014 defensive back Kendall Randolph has a top three of Louisville, South Carolina and Miami. Randolph is from Tallahassee, Fla., and is rated as a three- or four-star depending on where you look. Rivals lists him as the 11th best cornerback in the state of Florida. He had some good things to say about the Cards. To see that and more, check this out. http://cardinalsportszone.com/2013/08/14/4-star-defensive-back-favors-the-cards/

BOWL PROJECTION HAS THE CARDS BACK IN NOLA
Jerry Palm of cbssports.com released his preseason bowl projections this week. He has the Cards making a return to the Sugar Bowl to face the Georgia Bulldogs. I don't know about you. But if the Cards can't sneak into the National Championship game, I have no problem heading back to New Orleans!

TWO MORE UOFL TEAMS BEGIN THE SEASON RANKED
On Tuesday of this week, two more UofL teams had preseason rankings come out in their respective sports. Men's Soccer will begin the season ranked 10th in the NSCAA Poll. The Cards finished 14-6-1 last season and made their 3rd straight trip to the NCAA Elite Eight.

Also, Volleyball is ranked 19th in the AVCA Poll. Last season, the Cards won both the Big East regular season and the Big East Tournament. They went 30-4 on the year and Ann Kordes was named Big East Coach of the Year.
