CSZ: Teddy's gives Christmas gifts early

Teddy Bridgewater made some outstanding plays on Thursday night at Cincinnati. If he were still in the running for the Heisman, and it is crazy that he is not, he would have had two signature moments in this game. On a 4th and 12 when it looked like he was going to get sacked, he scrambled for the first down with a great run. He also made one of the best touchdown passes anyone has thrown this season. And in true Teddy form, he had some fun with the Cincinnati fans before the game as well.

Jeff Walz announced on Friday that senior Antonita Slaughter will miss the rest of the season after it was discovered she has a blood clot in her lung. After she collapsed during Tuesday's game, doctors ran numerous tests to figure out what was wrong. She will immediately begin taking blood thinners for this condition.
They still are not sure whether or not this will be a career-ending condition. Walz said "We're not even discussing her basketball [career] at this point in time. We're more concerned about her health in general and trying to find out why this happened Tuesday night."

Kyle Kuric has a message for fans regarding his 3rd annual toy drive: "Hey Card Nation! It's that time of year again. I need your help in collecting toys for Kyle's Korner for Kids and UofL Athletics. The collection will take place on Tuesday December 17 when our Cards take on Missouri State, an hour before tipoff in the Main Lobby of the KFC Yum! Center. Like the last two years, we will continue to donate the toys to Kosair Children's Hospital as well as The Home of the Innocents. This year Luke Hancock will deliver some of the donations Christmas Day to the Oncology Unit of Kosair's. Due to the generous amount of toys we have received in the past, it looks like we are going international! I am having some of the toys flown to Spain for kids in the hospital close to me! This is all possible because of you guys and I am thankful to have great fans like you! Thank you, Happy Holidays, and GO CARDS!"

Not only will the Louisville Cardinals have an incredible conference schedule next season when they join the ACC, they will also have some big-time non-conference games, which isn't always the case. Of course there will be the usual Battle of the Bluegrass against Kentucky, but the Cards are also looking to face Indiana and Minnesota.

The opening game of the season is a 99 percent done deal, just pending some travel arrangements. It will pit the Cardinals against the Minnesota Golden Gophers who are coached by Richard Pitino. The game is set to take place in Puerto Rico in a military hanger. The game against Indiana will be apart of the Jimmy V Classic in Madison Square Garden sometime in December. So when Coach Pitino says before next season starts that it will be "the toughest schedule we have ever had", it may actually be true!

From GoCards.com: Defending NCAA champion Joao De Lucca continued his dominance of the 200-free, winning the AT&T Short Course National Championship as part of a strong showing by the Cardinals Friday night at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center, hosted by the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn.

In the men's 200-free, in a highly touted showdown, Joao De Lucca set a new championship record with a time of 1:31.65, just edging Darian Townsend's 1:31.93. Only eight men have ever broken the 1:32.00 barrier in the 200-free.
