Petrino lands first commitment of the weekend

Louisville coach Bobby Petrino gained a new commitment Saturday - from a familiar name.

Lukayus McNeil, a 6-foot-7, 270-pound offensive line prospect out of Indianapolis, committed to Louisville Saturday while on a visit to the school.

McNeil, a three-star prospect, is rated No. 8 overall in the state of Indana and No. 40 as an offensive tackle.

McNeil had more than two dozen offers including Cincinnati, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan State, Nebraska, NC State, Oklahoma, Purdue, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin and many others.

He took official visits to NC State, Oklahoma and Indiana before he travelled to Louisville this weekend. McNeil was committed to the Cardinals under Charlie Strong, but de-committed after the coaching change.

Petrino and his new coaching staff was able to convince McNeil to re-commit to the Cardinals this weekend.
