The No. 5 tight end in Ohio for 2014, Mickey Crum is rated as a three-star recruit by rivals.com. The No. 58 overall recruit in Ohio, Crum picked Louisville in April of 2013 over early offers from Bowling Green, Ohio and Western Michigan. Because of his early commitment, Crum wasn't as hotly recruited, but he continued to stay focused on Louisville even after the coaching change. In between Strong's leaving and the hiring of Bobby Petrino, Crum told CardinalSports.com's Mike Singer. "As of right now I'm 100 percent committed. I feel like our athletic director (Tom Jurich) will find someone just as good as Strong or even better." He took a visit to Louisville on Jan. 17, confirming his commitment.
Crum on Louisville: "It wasn't just because of Strong. The city is amazing and the fans are very supportive - also, early playing time."
