Greenard commits to Louisville

Hiram (GA) defensive end Jonathan Greenard visited Kentucky on Saturday and Louisville on Sunday. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound 2015 prospect had plans on committing soon, and pulled the trigger after his Louisville visit. He becomes the third commit for the Cardinals 2015 class.

"I had a great vibe from the coaches," Greenard said. "All of the coaches embraced me as soon as I walked through the door. I had a chance to meet coach (Bobby) Petrino and he sat down and met with my parents. They loved what they saw."

Greenard loved the Louisville campus and made his decision easier to commit.

"Of course, the food places were nice. The dorms were perfect - I could see myself living there," he explained. "I got a good feel from the campus. I can see myself being there for the next four years of my life."

Greenard sees himself as a solid commit to Louisville. Last year at Hiram, Greenard had 22 tackles for loss and six sacks. Louisville defensive coordinator Todd Grantham has been recruiting Greenard and they have built a solid relationship.

"Our relationship has been pretty good from the get-go," said Greenard. "He came to our school back in April. He came back a second time and that's when he told me he wanted to offer me a scholarship. Once I got a feel from that, I knew they were pretty interested. From that point on, we talked just about every other day. I called him and just built our relationship."

Greenard held other offers from Kentucky, Appalachian State, Middle Tennessee State, and South Alabama. It's a weight off his shoulders to go ahead and make a summer commitment.

"It feels pretty good actually," he said. "You want to go into the season with your mind set on one school. To finally commit is just perfect."
