Big time four-star WR commits to Louisville

Louisville's last commitment came from Corey Reed, a four-star wide receiver from the state of Georgia.

Today, the Cards landed another four-star playmaker on the outside in four-star wideout Justin Marshall.

Marshall chose the Cards over finalists Maryland and Tennessee. He held other offers from the likes of Auburn, Georgia, South Carolina, and West Virginia.

"I grew up around the Louisville area, I have family there, I played on 7-on-7 teams from there," Marshall told Rivals.com. "It’s always been a school that’s been in the back of my head since it was one of my first offers. Being a Card has always been something in the back of my head. I look up to DeVante Parker and I see his impact around Louisville and I want to make an impact like he made."

The Cards are cleaning up in the state of Georgia. All three of their wide receiver commits come from the Peach state, as Marshall and Reed are combined with Joshua Johnson. Even the Cards tight end commit Kemari Averett is from Georgia.

The Cards also have commitments from the state of Georgia in defensive end Malik Clark and three-star tight end Kam Jones.

Marshall told CardinalSports.com previously that he will still take official visits despite a commitment. Oregon and Maryland are two schools that he hopes to take visits to.

A big part that led Marshall to commit to the Cards was his relationship with his future wide receivers coach Lonnie Galloway and the Director of On-Campus Recruiting Pete Nochta.

"Coach Galloway is a great guy. He's always instilled greatness in me," Marshall said. "He lets me know that I'm special, and that I'm different than the other players he's recruiting, because a lot of other players get wrapped up in this recruiting thing and their lives are about recruiting. Me - I just look at this as a blessing.

"Also, coach Galloway always lets me know that it's bigger than football. When I come to school, I'm looking to become a better young man and a man of God, rather than just playing football.

"I also have a great relationship with Pete Nochta. He used to play tight end at Louisville. Me and him talk all of the time - sending each other bible verses and connecting on a different level than just football. That's what really stands out to me."
