Goode ruled ineligible for 2007-08 season

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- University of Louisville freshman forward George Goode will be unable to compete for the Cardinals during the 2007-08 season.
The NCAA Eligibility Center reviewed his case and has allowed Goode to remain in classes at U of L and receive athletics aid, but he cannot practice any further or compete this season. While awaiting a decision on his intial eligibility status, Goode had been practicing and participating in conditioning drills with the Cardinals since the school year began in August.

Goode plans to remain enrolled at U of L, will become fully eligible next year after successfully completing this academic year and will have four seasons of competition available to him at U of L. The university will appeal the decision.
A top 100 prospect nationally, the 6-7 forward averaged 17 points, 11.6 rebounds, 5.7 blocks, and 2.1 assists as a senior in leading Raytown (Mo.) South High School to a 22-5 record and the district finals. He was a first team all-state selection by the Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association and the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association.
