Lamar Jackson sticks with Louisville

The top quarterback prospect in south Florida, Lamar Jackson was committed to Louisville for months, but a late push by Florida made his Signing Day pick big news.
After considering his options, Jackson picked Louisville Wednesday, becoming the Cardinals' third four-star signee of the day.

However, Jackson's decision didn't come without controversy. He entered his ceremony wearing a Gators' backpack, but it was just to add a little drama to his decision.
"It went down to the wire," Jackson said to the Palm Beach Post's Anthony Chiang. "But I felt Louisville was like family. They kept in connection with me. I had to go with my gut."
Jackson is the No. 17 dual-threat quarterback in the nation according to Rivals.com. The No. 51 overall recruit in Florida for 2015, Jackson was the Player of the Year in South Florida.
A 6-foot-2, 185-pound dual-threat from Boynton Beach, Fla., Boynton Beach High, Jackson had early offers from Florida State, Clemson, Auburn, West Virginia, Nebraska, South Carolina and others and held strong to Louisville despite late pushes by Mississippi State and Florida.
Jackson was recruited by Louisville wide receivers coach Lamar Thomas, who also recruited four-star wide receiver signee Devante Peete.
