Louisville in the Top 25 nationally in brand sales

The University of Louisville's national brand continues to rise in advance of its move this season to the ACC. According to the Collegiate Licensing Company, sales of Louisville merchandise are in their top 25 nationally.
The CLC, the licensing affiliate of IMG College, announce its top-selling brands Tuesday for the 2013-2014 season. Louisville merchandise and licensing was 24th in the nation, out-pacing many of its fellow Big 5 competitors.

Notre Dame was the top school in the Atlantic Coast Conference followed by Florida State at No. 8. The Seminoles jumped from No. 21 to No. 8 last year on the heels of its BCS National title.
North Carolina was No. 10 in the 2013-2014 season followed by Louisville at No. 24. The top five licensing earners for 2013-2014 were Texas, Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame and Georgia. This marked the ninth-straight year that Texas topped the Collegiate Licensing list.
Other ACC schools in the CLC Top 75 list include No. 29 Virginia Tech, No. 30 Duke, No. 33 Syracuse, No. 44 Virginia, No. 50 Georgia Tech, No. 51 Pittsburgh, No. 55 Boston College and No. 69 Wake Forest.

"We will continue to develop new products and marketing programs to enhance the brands of our partner institutions as we work together to grow the collegiate licensed segment of the marketplace in conjunction with collegiate licensees and retailers."
Per the IMG College release, the retail marketplace for college-licensed merchandise in 2013 was estimated at $4.59 billion.
