Louisville (15-3) secured the BIG EAST's automatic berth after beating Georgetown on Saturday for the first conference tournament title in school history. Winners of 11 straight, Louisville rolled its way also to the school's first regular-season crown.
The Cardinals and Buckeyes met earlier this season, with Ohio State posting a 12-11 win on March 4 in Columbus. Ohio State used five-consecutive goals in the second half that turned into a three-goal lead. Louisville managed a pair of late scores, but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit.
Prior to this year's matchup, Louisville posted a 12-11 decision over Ohio State on Feb. 16, 2013.
Of the 26-team field in the NCAA Tournament, Louisville has faced five teams, including Ohio State. The others were Denver, Duke, Georgetown, and Notre Dame.
