Louisville makes quick work of Kentucky Wesleyan

No. 16 Louisville sprinted to an early 20 point lead, led by as many as 25 in the first half and cruised to an easy 101-64 win over Kentucky Wesleyan Monday night.

The Cardinals shot an impressive 65.6 percent from the field in the first half and didn't let up much in the second half either as center Anas Mahmoud had 20 points, power forward Ray Spalding had 15 and wings Dwayne Sutton had 13 and Deng Adel scored 12.

Kentucky Wesleyan tried to keep pace with the Cardinals, but committed 16 first-half turnovers and didn't hit a three until less than four minutes left in the game. The Panthers ended up turning the ball over 27 times. They were 1-10 from threes and hit just 9 of 33 second-half shots.

As for Louisville, the Cardinals hit 7 of their first 10 threes and shot 54.7 percent for the game. UofL had 12 blocks including seven from Mahmoud.

Louisville's largest lead of 44 points came with 3:22 left. The Cardinals finished with an astounding 62 points in the paint.
