Louisville women wallop No. 14 LSU, 88-67

The No. 5 Louisville women's basketball team used a 21-0 run to sprint past No. 14 LSU 88-67 Thursday night at the KFC Yum! Center.
A lot has been made of the Louisville's men's team's ability to crush an opponent with a second-half run that puts the game out of reach. The Louisville women proved they are capable of just such a run, too, Thursday night.

Louisville led 60-54 with 10:53 left in the second half. At that point, the lead had changed four times and the score had been tied three times.
But then Louisville made its run. The Cardinals scored 21 straight points, turning a two possession game into a 27-point lead. BOOM.
Louisville closed out an 88-67 win with five players in double figures led by Asia Taylor's 23 points and 10 rebounds. Taylor was un-guardable for much of the game as the Tigers' bigger defenders couldn't keep up with her and their smaller defenders couldn't match her height.
Shoni Schimmel had 15 points, Antonita Slaughter had 12, Sara Hammond and Bria Smith each had 11.
