Miami safety commit is close with Louisville

Winter Garden, Fla. -- Jacksonville (Fla.) Bolles three-star safety Ahman Ross made an early commitment to the University of Miami. The class of 2017 prospect made his pledge to the 'Canes last fall following a visit for a home game.

Ross is still hearing from other programs though. In fact, Ross said at the Rivals Camp at West Orange High School in Orlando, Florida last weekend that the coach he is closest to resides in Louisville.

"I would probably say Coach Kolby Smith at Louisville," said Ross. "He’s just straightforward and tells me the truth about what I need to work on and he’s a great guy."

Louisville hasn't offered Ross yet, but the Cardinals are definitely interested in him. But Ross is committed to the 'Canes, and he said that Miami's campus is his favorite college to be at.

"It’s a great school, a small school in a big town, but it’s subtle," he said. "I like the classroom size because they’re small and you get that one-on-one time. Academics and athletics."
