Ellis on his mindset coming into Louisville:

"Really just trying to get better every day. I know that's going to help the team, just playing hard and helping us win. Everything will come together after that."

Ellis on his role:

"I feel like I'm going to play the point guard position. But I'm also going to play off the ball, especially with how good the guards we have are. Everybody is interchangeable and we're going to run the floor."

Ellis on getting to know the newcomers:

"All of the new guys have bonded really well. It's like all of us have known each other for a long time."

Ellis on the difference between the JUCO level and practice now:

"What's been different is the physicality and the pace. And playing around a bunch of really good guys. It's also helpful because it makes my job easier."

Ellis on improving over the summer:

"Every day you can see I'm getting a lot better. Today I was really aggressive in practice."

Ellis on Noah Locke and Jarrod West:

"Knowing that all of us can play on or off the ball is going to be really good. We can get it and go. Playing with guys who can shoot the ball makes it easier for us to get good looks."

Ellis on the new offense:

"We're going to play fast and play in transition. That's what everybody wants to see and that's what we are working on. Getting up and down is going to be really helpful with the versatility we have this year."
