Sample signs with Louisville

University of Louisville football head coach Bobby Petrino announced on Tuesday the addition of safety James Sample on the Cardinals' program.
"James is an outstanding football player who will help us fill a void on our football team," Petrino said. "He has outstanding size at the safety position and will add immediate depth to this position on our football team."

Sample signed with the Washington Huskies in 2011 as a four star prospect. He was ranked the 9th best safety by Rivals.com and 135th nationally.
Sample attended American River College before signing with Louisville and will be eligible immediately.
A former safety at Washington, the 6-foot-2, 200-pounder played for the Huskies from 2011-2012. Sample played in three games in 2012, and also saw action in two games in 2011 before his season ended early due to an injury.
