adidas KDF Basketball Classic rosters announced

The 2007 adidas Kentucky Derby Festival All-Star Classic will feature many of the nation's top future basketball stars including the nation's No. 1 ranked player, Michael Beasley. The 27th annual game, presented by Derby Festival Partner partner adidas, boasts a stellar lineup that includes 11 players ranked in the Rivals.com Top 50. The All-Stars scheduled to attend this year's classic have signed with a host of major Division 1 schools including recent Final Four participants UCLA, LSU, Duke, Syracuse, Kansas, Arizona and Michigan State.

Beasley, the No. 1 overall player and No. 1 power forward in the nation according to Rivals.com, is a 6-foot-9, 235-pound beast on the low block. Originally from the Washington D.C. area, Beasley spent this past season at Notre Dame Prep in Fitchburg, Mass., and has signed with Kansas State.

DeAndre Jordan, a 7-foot, 240-pound center from Houston, is another stellar recruit who will be in Louisville for this year's game. Committed to Texas A&M, Jordan is the nation's No. 2 center according to Rivals.com and one of the top 10 prep basketball players in the country.

In a game stocked with future stars, Dallas-native Anthony Randolph may have the most upside. The LSU-signee is 6-10, 210-pounds and actually plays around the perimeter as a small forward. Rated No. 4 on Rivals.com's list of top small forwards, Randolph is the No. 17 overall recruit in the country.

San Diego small foward Jamelle Horne is another top 25-ranked player who will be in Louisville for the adidas KDF Classic. A 6-7, 205-pound athlete who is rated the No. 2 player in California and the No. 5 small forward in the nation according to Rivals.com, Horne will be headed to Arizona this fall.

Strong power forward Herb Pope is rated No. 24 in the nation according to Rivals.com and is headed to New Mexico State after facing off against the nation's best in the adidas Kentucky Derby Festival Classic. The 6-8, 233-pound stud is one of the nation's top five power forwards.

Irvine, Calif. big man Austin Daye is the sixth All-Star invitee ranked among the nation's Top 25 recruits. A 6-9, 184-pound athlete rated among the nation's top 10 small forwards signed to play at Gonzaga this fall.

This year's KDF All-Star game boasts five more players ranked among the nation's Top 50 prospects including Chris Allen, Senario Hillman, Lacedarius Dunn, Jeff Robinson and Nolan Smith.

Rated the No. 31 overall player in the class of 2007 by Rivals.com, Allen is a 6-3, 185 pound combo guard from Lawrenceville, Ga. who is signed with Michigan State. Dunn, a 6-4, 190-pound slasher from Monroe, La. who is signed with Baylor, is the No. 32 recruit in the nation and the No. 7 shooting guard in the nation. Hillman (6-2, 170, Irwonton, Ga.) is another top shooting guard, rated No. 11 in the nation by Rivals.com and No. 40 overall in the class of 2007.

Robinson (Columbus, N.J.) is one of the nation's top 10 small forwards and is the No. 35 overall recruit in the nation. Headed to Memphis, Robinson could be an early favorite for the annual Night of the Future Stars dunk contest.

Beasley, the nation's top player, will be joined in the game by a pair of AAU teammates in Smith, a shooting guard, and center Julian Vaughn. Smith, a 6-3, 175 pound shooter from Oak Hill Academy in Virginia. Smith signed to play at Duke and is one of the nation's top 50 prospects and the No. 10 shooting guard in the nation according to Rivals.com. Vaughn, a 6-9, 240-pound Oak Hill Academy product, is one of the nation's top 30 power forwards (29) and is the No. 105 overall recruit in the nation. Vaughn signed with Florida State.
