LOUISVILLE Ky.- Phil Steele announced his 2024 Preseason All-American and All-ACC teams, and the University of Louisville football team was well represented. Ashton Gillotte was a first team Defensive All-American, and Caullin Lacy was recognized on the Offensive All-American fourth team.
The Cardinals made a strong showing in the All-Conference rankings with six players earning a mention on Steele’s team.
Leading the Cardinals was Gillotte, who earned first team all-conference accolades. He was a second All-American last season and a first team all-league performer after finishing ninth nationally with 11.0 sacks. Lacy, a transfer from South Alabama, joined Gillotte on the preseason first-team. He joined the Cardinals this spring after catching 91 passes for 1,316 yards and seven scores last season. Michael Gonzalez was another first-team honoree after he started all 14 games last year.
Quincy Riley was the lone player earning second team honors after the cornerback recorded 45 tackles and was second on the team with three interceptions.
Linebacker T.J. Quinn and safety Devin Neal were third-team honorees. Quinn started all 14 games and led the Cards with a career high 92 tackles and Neal led the team with four interceptions.
