Harrells a Cardinal

Louisville landed its final recruit of the 2012 recruiting class Monday when Montrezl Harrell finalized his college decision. The former Virginia Tech signee could suit up for Louisville this season.
Harrell's father confirmed Harrell's commitment to Adam Zagoria Monday morning.

"Yes, he's a Louisville Cardinal," Harrell's father said.
The 6-foot-8, 225-pound power forward had been visiting the school throughout the weekend. A top 20 power forward nationally, Harrell is ranked No. 82 in the nation.
He will likely compete with returning starter Chane Behanan for playing time at the power forward spot. Behanan is expected to be Louisville's starter, but Harrell provides athletic depth at the position.
Harrell signed a National Letter of Intent to Virginia Tech, but was let out of his letter when the Hokies made a coaching change. Because he's already signed a NLI, he will likely sign a financial aid agreement to enroll at Louisville.
"He's going to be a Louisville Cardinal," Chatham, Va., Hargrave Military Academy coach A.W. Hamilton told Jody Demling of the Courier-Journal. "A lot of things sold him. He really enjoyed meeting the guys and the facilities are probably the best in the country.
"He has an unbelievable relationship with (assistant) coach (Kevin) Keatts and the more time he spent around coach (Rick) Pitino, it felt like home for home."
