Kentuckys Tremendous 26 announced

Each year, the Kentucky Football Coaches Association and the Kentucky High School Football Guide pick 26 upcoming seniors from around the state of Kentucky as the top football prospects in the Bluegrass State.
This year, the state of Kentucky high school football talent may be better than ever.

"This year's class is a very talented group of student athletes who have had success on and off the field." Kentucky High School Football Guide Managing Editor Hank Kilander said.
Composed with the help of Kentucky high school football coaches, the Tremendous 26 is traditionally one of the earliest looks at top talent from around the region. Each year the list spots many of the top players in the state, and also rewards players for more than just football talent.
"These young men have excelled not only on the football field, but also in the classroom, in others sports and in the community as well," HSSP's Vice-President Rich Sapper said. "We are proud that we will have such an outstanding group representing Kentucky Football on the cover of the Kentucky High School Football Guide."
This year's list includes nine prospects from the city of Louisville including Male's Dexter Heyman, Pleasure Ridge Park's Brandon Newman and St. Xavier's Matt Smith.
The list also includes a number of familiar last names. Heyman's older brother, Earl, was a tremendous 26 star and is now a defensive tackle at the University of Louisville. Lexington's Aaron Boyd's older brother, Shane, is now with the Arizona Cardinals in the NFL. And Sam Robey's father, Rick, was an All-American at Kentucky.
This year's list also continues to recognize the growing talent-base in the city of Bowling Green. Defensive back Jared Carpenter, wide receiver D.L. Moore and tight end Ryan Wallace have all been honored with a spot on this year's Tremendous 26.
