Jeff Brohm and the Louisville Cardinals will take the stage tomorrow in Charlotte at ACC Media Days. Brohm will be joined by veteran offensive lineman Bryan Hudson, defensive lineman Ashton Gillotte, and running back Jawhar Jordan.

Here are a few items to monitor as Brohm and Louisville are set to address the media in Charlotte.

Handling expectations

After a few sub-par years of play on the field with a head coach that the fan base had soured on, Louisville now has the guy most people have wanted for a number of years. The homecoming aspect is there, the leading a program that means so much to his family is there, and Jeff Brohm has put together a roster that can win quite a few games in year one. Not only is the thought of winning quite a few games there in the minds of Louisville fans, but it's also been prevalent from power rankings and publications alike. In fact, Action Network's Collin Wilson has penciled in the Cardinals to be favorites in every one of their games - as of now. The only others schools in that category are Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, and Washington. This city has been craving for exciting, fundamentally-sound, winning football. The city has been craving for L&N Cardinal Stadium to be at capacity again. Jeff Brohm is tasked with that challenge, and fair or not, he is expected to do meet that challenge in his first year at the helm.

Confidence in Jack Plummer

The quarterback position is arguably the most important position of any on the football field. And it may be even more important in an offensive system as dynamic as Jeff Brohm's. In Jack Plummer, Louisville has someone who has played a ton of college football, but also someone who knows how Jeff Brohm likes to do things on offense. Plummer has thrown for over 6,500 yards in his career, with 3,400 coming at Purdue and 3,100 coming at California. Plummer has tossed 47 touchdowns compared to only 19 interceptions. He has a career 134.1 quarterback rating. The stats and experience are there. Can he be the guy that leads Louisville to a season that most hope?

Replacing two NFL-ready defenders

Louisville had two legitimate NFL-ready, 53-man roster type players on its defense last year in Yasir Abdullah and YaYa Diaby. The two took over multiple games down the stretch of the 2022 season, most memorably the Wake Forest game. The duo combined for 61.5 tackles for loss and 34 sacks in their time at Louisville. Bryan Brown didn't have a lot of supporters here, but he had these two playing at an extremely high level, in a havoc-based defense. Now, Louisville has to figure out how to pick up the pieces and find reliable pass rushers post Abdullah and Diaby. Can Stephen Herron be that guy? Can Ashton Gillotte continue to emerge?
