With 32 points last night, Utah Jazz rookie Donovan Mitchell continues to crush the critics during his first season in the NBA.

Mitchell, who was the 13th pick in last spring's NBA Draft, is averaging 17.8 points per game this season. His 49.5 percent effective field goal percentage and 66 three-points in 28 games are among the league leaders for rookies.

And he's just getting better. In December, Mitchell is averaging 27.2 points per game and is averaging 3.7 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game.

Mitchell's 32 against the Bulls came from his knowledge of the game.

"Donovan Mitchell was brilliant offensively, feasting on Chicago’s soft screen-roll defense to the tune of 32 points (most of which came on the attack off of high picks)," NBA writer Ryan Aston of Roundball Ruckus wrote.

Last week, CBS' rookie ratings had Mitchell ahead of Ben Simmons, the triple-double star most people believe will win Rookie of the Year.

CBS' Colin Ward-Henninger wrote, "Mitchell has become the talk of the league with his play recently, and has taken complete control of the Jazz offense to the tune of a 35 percent usage rate in four games this week. Mitchell's ability to shoot and drive off of screens has made him incredibly effective on hand-offs, particularly at the top of the key. He and Derrick Favors run a ton of them, with a very high success rate because of Mitchell's ability to score from all three levels."
