Rivals.com has picked the Top 25 basketball recruiters in the NCAA and picked two assistant coaches with ties to Louisville- former assistant Reggie Theus and current assistant coach Marvin Menzies.
The Cardinals- under head coach Rick Pitino, have experienced a dramatic renewal of a storied program culminating in a trip to the 2005 Final Four in Saint Louis. Just before the Final Four, lead recruiter Reggie Theus was named the new Head Coach at New Mexico State, but not before the former NBA All-Star brought in a Top 5 recruiting class for U of L.
Pitino searched the country after the season for one of the nation's best recruiters with West Coast ties to replace Theus in the Cardinal coaching line-up and found his man at UNLV. Menzies, a native Californian, was hired to replace Theus as Louisville's lead recruiter.
The top 25 recruiters in the game today, as chosen by Rivals.com's basketball recruiting experts Tim Watts, Justin Young and Jerry Meyer, are listed in alphabetical order below. As written by Chris Wallace.
Stay tuned Tuesday afternoon (2 p.m. Eastern) for an AMP feature on the nation's top 25 recruiters. On Wednesday morning, Rivals.com will release its National Basketball Recruiter of the Year.
