Thingstads Journal: Entry Two

Louisville commit Troy Thingstad gives our readers a first person look at his senior season, recruitment, and more. Thingstad will write a journal entry every month, exclusively for CardinalSports.com.

We are midway into our season now practicing for the fifth game at 4-0. For the first time in a very long time, a team has been unanimously voted into the number one class 5A spot, this team is us - St. Paul's. Our team is working harder than it ever has before too, it's more determined than ever before, and it is more focused on what really matters, getting things right. After our games even we meet on Sunday and the team is more concerned about our grades through the game and if we have met our goals. The team and I have improved tremendously. Our main focuses on offense are the little things, and trying to make every offensive drive on every game a touchdown.

Watching Louisville lately has been amazing. The intensity of the program is above all; however, these guys still have fun. At other programs players just don't seem like they enjoy being on the team as much as they do at Louisville. Watching Louisville perform in the ACC makes me want to throw on one of those black jerseys and get started on the team. The thought of being able to be watched on national television is great. I think the game meant a lot for Louisville to come out and make a statement like that in front of the nation. To show everyone that you're ready to be in a big time conference and be on top in that conference is very important.

My recruiting is the same as last month. However, I'm really excited that we had more Alabama commitments this month! Coach Buck and I this month have been talking about the big game we won. It feels like I've heard from everyone in the field house at Louisville about it. We also have been coordinating all the school stuff to get that sent away and taken care of. The only schools I've heard from are George Tech and Florida state with game invites.
