Henzman is National Stopper of the Year

The Fraternity of Cardinal Closers is a tough nut to crack. Lincoln Henzman is the latest to achieve national stardom.

Henzman came into the ninth inning and shut down Texas A&M for three quick outs to advance Louisville to the Winner's Bracket in Omaha for the first time in school history. That performance is nothing new for the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year.

The All-America first-team honoree has a 1.77 ERA with 36 strikeouts in 35.2 innings this season. Henzman has a 3-0 record and had 13 saves against ACC teams this season.

Henzman is the second Louisville closer to win the National Stopper of the Year award, joining former Cardinal Nick Burdi (2014) on that prestigious list.
