With the team in the nation's Top 10 and fan interest at an all-time high, Louisville Football will strike quickly to expand its stadium.
The program launched a study last year that clearly pointed toward expansion. Since then, the University's athletic fund-raising arm, the Cardinal Athletic Fund, has fielded incredible demand from fans wanting to get seats in the new expansion.
The Field Level Suites sold first, then the Club Level seats sold out as well.
"This is project that we started in February, and we have had tremendous response," UofL CAF director Mark Jurich said. "... We are moving up our goal to have the project done by the start of the 2018 season instead of the 2019 season."
Jurich said the fan interest pushed the project forward.
As of today we are completely sold of our Field Level Suites, completely sold out of our Premium Boxes and we are already half-sold of the Club Seats," Jurich said.
Construction will begin after the final home game this season.
