The news had been circulating for weeks. The buzz has been present for months. Today, highly- touted point guard Sebastian Telfair officially declared his intention to enter the NBA Draft. Telfair, who had committed and signed with the University of Louisville, made his NBA choice official today at the ESPN Zone in Times Square shortly after 3 p.m.

The 5-11 Brooklyn point guard became the sixth high school star to make himself eligible for the June 24 draft, joining Dwight Howard, Josh Smith, Shaun Livingston, Al Jefferson and J.R. Smith.
High school superstars have until May 10 to declare for the draft and can remain in the draft until June 17. If they don't hire an agent, they can still go on to college. Telfair, however, has signed with agent Andy Miller and he also signed a shoe contract with adidas, that company announced today in a press release.
CardinalSports.com wishes to extend its hope for a long and profitable career for Sebastian Telfair in the professional ranks. Telfair's recruitment, commitment to the Cardinals, and eventual draft decision have been covered every step of the way by Rivals.com and CardinalSports.com, and it is very rare to see a player with as much star quality as Telfair.
